Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a Mercedes-Benz E212 that required a new transmission module. An initial attempt by another technician couldn’t be completed due to a lack of SERMI registration.
This screenshot displays the initial error message we received, “An error has occurred,” indicating that our customer does not yet have the SERMI Certification. As a result, we were initially unable to assist them.
Fortunately, one of our customers, a SERMI-registered Independent Operator (IO), brought the vehicle to us through ATR Remote. With our certification as a Remote Service Supplier (RSS), we were able to step in, personalize the transmission control module, and ensure it was correctly configured. The screenshot reveals that no newer control unit software was available, as a different software had been preloaded by another party.

Following coding, programming and activating the transmission module you need to adapt the transmission. Through the personalization process, we completed a successful basic setting to guarantee the transmission was working properly.
With everything in place, the car is now ready to hit the road, perfectly tuned and prepared for future adventures.
